Spring Showers.
This past week was stormy and dark. I found myself holed up with a lack of enthusiasm for hitting the town and a well-stocked bar. I avoided cooking almost all week, but I did manage to experiment a bit with some whiskey to satisfy my dark mood
Pair this with just about any kind of takeout (because really… who wants to cook when it’s raining?)
The Black Cherry Soda

Two measures of bourbon over ice followed by one measure of blackberry liqueur, and one measure of maraschino cherry juice. Top off rest of glass with club soda and garnish with one or three maraschino cherries. (The odd number of garnishes is a bartenders’ superstition, I’m told, but I’ll always take extra cherries/olives/whatever.)
