A Dark Drink For a Dark Night.

George C. wrote this in the wee hours:

Sometimes, you just want something nuanced, complex, multifaceted and a little dark… To match your day. This was today’s random creation, and a damn good one, I might add.

The Slide-Rule

In an old-fashioned glass, combine:

1 oz cognac (vs or better preferred)
1/2 oz ruby port
1 dash floral liqueur (St. Germain, Creme de Violette, etc- I used my homemade Rose Geranium liqueur)
1/2 tsp. pomegranite molasses
1 tsp. applesauce
2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters

Stir to dissolve fruit pastes, add the largest ice cube in the house, and sip slowly. Consider donning something made of crushed velvet and watching re-runs of The Outer Limits on your Barca Lounger.
